HSU Mortgage Breaker Home Loan
9.14%pa*/9.16%pa**
By making your loan repayments and putting a little extra aside into a Mortage Breaker account you could make considerable savings.
The best way to reduce your interest is to split your pay. You make your home loan repayments and then have the remainder of your pay go directly into an Offset Savings account. By doing this you are reducing the daily interest calculated on your loan.
The HSU Mortgage Breaker Home Loan interest is calculated on the remaining loan amount minus the balance in the Offset Savings account.
For example, if you borrowed $200,000 and had a balance of $3000 in the Offset Savings account then the interest for the loan would be calculated on $200,000 - $3,000 = $197,000. Remember, the interest is calculated daily, so keeping the highest balance you can in the account will save you the most money.
You also have full access to the money in this account, with the added benefits of a linked VISA card and cheque book.
